Sex Toys Today

The turn off
towards sex toys can be quite understandable when you hear stories like those
mention above, but some basic information about the safety and legality of sex toys will hopefully make that moment pass and
allow you to get back to enjoying thrilling, totally uninhibited, exciting sex.
Because there is
very little data on sex toys safety, it seems there are many generalizations
surrounding them that defy common sense. For example, one of the biggest
so-called potential dangers of sex toys is that they can cause cancer, because
of certain materials they are made out of. However, there is actually no proof
whatsoever that sex toys have ingredients that could cause cancer. Another myth
is that silicone is the only safe material to use with sex toys. Yet this is
simply not true, as many sex toys are made out of plastics that are used for
many other daily uses, and there has never been any negative press about them.

The concern with
sex toys stems from the fact that most lingerie/sex toy manufacturers do not state what materials they use in their
sex toys. While these mysterious materials may in fact pose some kind of health
risks, we cannot actually know this for certain, any more than we can really
know whether the plastics that are used to make children's toys are dangerous.
Chances are, they are probably not dangerous, but you shouldn't let it spoil
your sex life.
One big cause of
controversy is the use of phthalates in sex toys, as these materials have been
linked to health issues in some individuals, in a wide range of other products,
not just sex toys. Many kinds of rubber sex toys use phthalates, but as yet
there is no definitive proof of the health risks it may pose.
Where does all
this uncertainty leave you? Well, according to sex experts like Dr. Marty Klein, Regina Lynn, Dan Savage and Carol Queen, you simply have to assess for yourself what you think the risks
are, and in order to do this you need to obtain as much information as possible
to allow you to make an educated decision on which sex toys to use. It's
probably not wise to make such decisions in the heat of the moment if you are
concerned!

In general, if
you are concerned about sex toy safety, try to use toys that are made from high
quality materials such as elastomers and silicone, which are made by the likes
of Aneros, Adam and Eve, Condomania, Frederick's of Hollywood, Good Vibrations, Lover's Lane, Naughty Time Novelty, OhMiBod, Pure Romance, Priscillas, Slightly Sinful, The Rabbit, Victoria Secret, Xandria and Walgreen's.
